Seriously, what’s your next marketing move? What should you do next? How do you choose the right marketing tactics?
Should you go after reach, impressions, engagement, building an email list, or something else?
To know the answer to these questions, it’s important to make clear distinctions.
- Reach measures how many unique viewers your post has.
- Impressions measures how many times your content was displayed.
- Engagement is the number of actions people with your page and content.
Or maybe something else?
Unlike reach, impressions do not measure unique viewers. So if your post was served up to the same person three times, your impression count would increase by three.
Now, reach is not a form of engagement. Instead, reach is a precursor to engagement: as your reach increases, so does the probability of engagement simply because your content is appearing in front of more users, so while they are connected in some ways, they are two separate metrics.
You can always choose to go a different route, but if you haven’t implemented a proper and systemized marketing campaign, you should start by improving your reach.
So how can we increase our reach?
We can do a lot of things to increase our reach, but to keep things simple let’s focus on a single channel like Facebook.
What can we do to increase our reach on Facebook?
Here are 3 things you can do to increase your Facebook reach:
- Repurpose best performing content – and promote on a different platform. Direct traffic to your page from a Tweet, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, or website article.
- Share video testimonials – if you don’t have new ones, your task is to make sure you get them done.
- Evaluate the current posting, find the best time to post and posting frequency.
Of course, you can do more to increase your reach, so if you have specific questions, feel free to leave them I the comments or send a private message.
