A lot of people talk and don’t listen. When you are a consultant you need to master the art of listening.
Listen to what the person is telling you and pay close attention to what is missing to achieve the desire result. Once you identify what is missing (the information gap), you help them fill in the blanks with your expertise.
Offer Results No Services
You might know so much about the particular area that when you try to explain it to another person they only hear “lingo” they can’t understand all the technical terms and to be honets with you, they don’t care. They only care what is that you are going to do for them, not how you are going to do it.
Focus On The Relationship Not Revenue
It’s easier for you to concentrate on how many people you can contact and help today versus how much money you need to make today. You already have the expertise and you know more than a few people. Just look inside your contact list. All you have to do is to contact everyone in you know and everyone in your phone and email contact list to get your first paid client. Right?
