“One challenge photographers have is being the ONE photographer people think when they want to get some pictures done.” – Angel Anderson
What can you do if you do not come up when your potential customers search in Google? Alternatively, ask a friend on Facebook?
- You can ask for advice or help.
- You can post great content to your website and social media accounts.
- You can use email marketing.
Ask for help – Will make you better
Ryan Blair, the co-founder of ViSalus (who is worth $1,000 a MINUTE) said:
“I am looking for mentors every day. People think there is just one mentor that can help you. I have many. I sought mentorship from everyone – from all time winning coaches to businessmen to spiritual mentors.
Asking for help is critically important in reducing your learning curve and getting you on the right track and it’s so easy these days with LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to reach out to people.

Post more often will absolutely attract more people
Notice when you look at Instagram photos, what type of pictures attract your attention? Also pay attention to the post you click on Facebook.
You mostly click on pictures and post that draw your attention. Now think how you can draw the attention of your “ideal” customer without saying buy my shit.
- Help them solve a specific problem
- Encourage them
- Educate them
How often? Well, it is up to you. However, let me tell you. Posting daily it is better than posting six days per week. Publishing six days per week, it is better than posting five days per week. Posting five days per week it is better than posting four days per week, you get my point.
How email marketing can solve your problem?
Email marketing helps you get more business by sending regular updates. Regular updates give the recipient more reasons to choose you as their photographer when the time comes.
Start Here
- People forward their emails to friends and family to share good information.
- Regular email updates let you build a relationship with people interested in your services.
- Prospect can become clients in matters of seconds by just replying to your email.
Your first step should be to get Aweber. Next add the web form to your website, then you can find people to sing up for your emails.
Building a subscriber list
Your family, friends and social networks are a good start asking for subscriptions, and they can send your emails to whomever they think will be interested in what you are offering.
Don’t be afraid to ask people to subscribe your email updates, if you want people to subscribe you need to ask for their subscription.
Ask people if they like to get your email updates when you book them. You can also include an invitation for people to subscribe in your portrait packages.
What happens after people sign up?
After a person subscribes your email updates, you want to welcome them right away. Let them know how they have sign up successfully and them they what they can expect from you.
Every email after that is a change to turn that subscriber into a client. However, because you have permission to email them as long as they are on your list, that does not mean every email you send is a “hard sell”.
Instead send regular updates, tell your subscribers what is new, and what you learn.
Each email should ask the reader to do ONE thing.
- Ask your readers to response via email.
- You can ask survey your subscribers to know what they want.
- Ask them to book in advance.
- Tell them to go to Facebook or Twitter and say hi.
Send frequent updates automatically
They will be times of the year you will be busy taking pictures, and you will not be able to write and send regular updates. Thankfully you can send regular updates automatically by connecting Aweber to your blog. Every time you post a new blog, it can be sent to your subscribers automatically or at a pre-schedule time and date.
In this video, you will also learn the eight places you should be collecting subscribers.
