“You do what?”
That was the expression a friend of mine gave me today when I told him that I pretty much auto-ship everything, including clothes.
If you’ve been following me, you know that I’ve been exercising quite often. I’ve got to keep my physical health, and it also boosts my productivity. One thing I also do is find ways to create time to focus on the things that really matter to me. Sometimes it’s family, sometimes it’s homework, sometimes it’s business.
In life, we have all these noises going on. School, kids, wife, spouse, all kinds of things. When I told my friend that I auto-ship everything that I can. He gave me this look, and it made me want to share this with you guys today.
First of all, let me tell you about the clothes.
In the UK, I use a service called Chapar. I have no affiliation, so go and check them out if you want to. It’s a pretty good service. You create a profile and you give them your measurements. They grab a picture of you from Facebook or you can send it to them, and then they schedule a 10-15 minute phone call. They go through your style, what you have in your closet, and they mail you a trunk. You keep what you want. Whatever you don’t want, you return it in the mail and they take it back.
Recently, I tried this one from FiveFour Clothing. I’m pretty happy so far. The service is a little bit less than Chapar, but it’s still the same concept. FiveFour has a different business model where you have a subscription.
When you take into consideration how long it takes me to get into my car and drive to the store. Possibly through traffic, heavy traffic, going to the shop. Once there finding a parking spot, walking inside the store, trying to find what you want. After you find what you want, you might try it out. Then waiting in line to pay for it, then walking back to your car, and then driving back home, and all the things in between like eating. It adds up.
I know some people are going to be like, “Angel, but that’s my relaxing time. That’s my window shopping time.” Let me challenge you to find other things.
Read a book, go outside, play with your kids, do something besides going to the store. You need the clothes, but you don’t need to shop for them.
Here is how you get more family time
Here is the tip that I want to share with you, that I challenge you to do, and it will save you at least four hours per month. This is what the reason why my friend gave me that look like, “What?” Check it out. Amazon Save and Subscribe allows you to auto-ship items to your house, and my family and I auto-ship everything we can.
I’m talking
- Toilet paper
- Soaps
- Shampoos
- Lotions
- Paper towels
You name it, Amazon has it. The only things that I pretty much buy locally are milk, eggs, ham, and meats.
If you ship five items per month, you get an extra 15% discount with Amazon Save and Subscribe. But forget about the savings for a second, which are substantial when you auto-ship a lot of things every month.
How much time do you or your wife spend at the grocery store?
I don’t like going to the grocery store, but the boss (the wife) kind of forces me to every once in a while.
I find creative ways to make the shopping list shorter, so we are in and out. If you give it a shot. If you put everything you can in auto-shipment and let’s say, if you can’t afford everything right now, you just pick the items that you buy weekly or monthly. We’re talking about laundry detergent, soap for the sink, the dishwasher soap, whatever it is. Toilet paper, start there, paper towels, toothpaste…
You don’t have to buy them every month. But, for example, if you don’t need the item, you can set it to ship every 6 months, every 3 months, or every year. I’ve got things like tennis shoe insoles that get auto-shipped. It saves you a ton of time. I challenge you to create a list right now. Go to Amazon Save and Subscribe, and create a list right now. Auto-ship things that you buy daily, weekly, or monthly, and save that time.
I dare to say you will save at least four hours, and I would love to hear your report. I would love to listen to what you have to say after you implement this technique. Create more time, spend it on things that you really want to do. You still have to buy them, so why not give it a shot. Go on Amazon Save and Subscribe, and auto-ship today.
I want to thank you for reading this post because I know you have tons of opportunities and plenty of blogs to choose from, and I want to thank you for picking my blog to read. I will continue creating these types of posts for you, that will help you out. I will share what I’m doing that is working with me, and again, thanks for reading.
